Using the Mustang badge for their EV SUV will come as a surprise to some and with scorn from others, but have no doubts about it, this electric SUV Mustang is here to stay. Ford are claiming the Mustang Mach-E will be capable of over 300 miles range when equipped with the 99 kWh battery, which puts it in the same league as the upcoming Tesla Model Y. Power is expected to be around the 300 horsepower mark for the top line all-wheel drive model, with a 400+ horsepower GT version likely to appear after the initial launch.

“The Mustang Mach-E wholeheartedly rejects the notion that electric vehicles are only good at reducing gas consumption,” said Hau Thai-Tang, Ford’s chief product development and purchasing officer. “People want a car that’s thrilling to drive, that looks gorgeous and that can easily adapt to their lifestyle – and the Mustang Mach-E delivers all of this in unmatched style.”
